The world ‘inspirational’ is quite a taboo in the disability community.
However, for us it isn’t about how inspiring our films makers are, we already know what they can do. It's about:
Inspiring people to look beyond disability.
To be inspired to do something creative.
To take the time to appreciate abilities and potential.
PIFF inspires people to adjust their way of looking at people with developmental disabilities. Instead of seeing this population as “needy” or “worthy of charity”, they will be seen as artistic, creative, dedicated and ambitious.
Is that not a better way of looking at people?
